I don't know much about these big animals, but they look very regal to me. Mama's Grandpa in Kansas had the most beautiful Percherons for miles around. The Silver horse from Wales could be related to the horse
Taran rode in a fantasy book where Kings, Princesses, bards, and even assistant pig-keepers adventured. The Mustangs are endangered for no good reason except "people" want the land for cattle to graze on instead. They aren't actually wild, but considered feral since they were once domesticated. I love the thought of wild horses, as well as wild cats (big brave ones!).
This is my mama's favorite - I can see why - she's beautiful with hair like mine!
Haflinger is a small horse, originally from the Tyrolian Alps in Austria.

The "fabled" Welsh horse?
Melynlas
It's easy to imagine her
in medieval times
Whoa, Hans! Those are big guys, but you can ride on them. The ride is a little bouncy.
ReplyDeleteI like that top one, too. it reminds me of the icelandic horse, also small in stature. maybe they're related?
ReplyDeleteThey're all very pretty. I like the silver guy on the bottom, and yeah I can see that he might be a Melynlas for sure! The top one is beautiful as well, and the black one look very strong, perfect for farmwork in Kansas I guess :)
ReplyDeleteThanks - I like horses a lot. If I were rich with land enough to exercise them and able to pay some people to do all the dirty work of keeping them, I'd love to own a few for weekend rides on trails, at the beach, or just around my acres and acres of fairytale-like property.

ReplyDelete"I can honestly say I prefer Clarus the Dogcow to any of these. But if I had to choose between just these ones.... hmmm...
I think I'd probably go for Clarus. Woooo hoo hoo."

ReplyDelete"Why doesn't ByteDoc hab a blog about trains and Jovian a blog about cooking?
"Seems fishy to me."
Justin again... Where are the Percherons from? I've never heard of them before. The name sounds French. Know anything more about their origins? They almost look like a medieval warhorse! The kind you see people riding in movies or at Renn Faires in modern-day reenactments of jousts and so on.

ReplyDeleteYou're right - and a very interesting history!
Thanks, I'll check it out right now!
ReplyDeleteBerry interesting indeed :)
ReplyDeleteHey Met, nobody even knows what a train is anymore, much less being interested in them. If people even know what a train is, they think they are only to haul freight. When I tell people I am going for a train ride, they say " YOU WHAT!! But thanks for thinking of me.
ReplyDeleteI'll bet plenty of trainspotters in the UK would disagree!
ReplyDeleteAnd I still like trains.
But it's probably a shrinking audience, you're right about that.
