Autumnal Equinox

Autumn started yesterday, Sept 23, 2010.  I don't understand but it's beautiful to look outside and see leaves turning colors - it's a new show everyday and some leaves are starting to fall to the ground.  People, and cats too, step on the leaves, they crunch and make pictures on the sidewalk.  Here's what autumn looks like in the forest:

  1. Well Hans, you may have Autumn there, but it is summer again here in Sactomento.

  2. Wowzer! That's a byootiful photo. I love autumn scenes, especially of forests changing colors. They always make my imagination come to life, and I start thinking about faraway people, places, and times.

I wonder if the great storytellers all got their ideas from places like this? I know I would. Sometimes I sit out at the park or by the lake just to get ideas.

You wouldn't like lakes, they're full of water! But you might be interested in the ducks that swim around on the surface. If you don't know what a duck is, it's the kind of bird that goes "quack!" - your mom can show you a picture.

We have a lot of ducks where I live, and I like to feed them when I feel good enough to go outside.

I can't believe Autumn is already here! The "equinox" means that the daytime and nighttime are the same length of time right now. But don't worry about that, just enjoy yourself.
